Flight to London
David took an early AM flight to London and Portsmouth, England, to return on Tuesday night. I attended a salad luncheon at the Church. There were approximately 100 ladies attending and each of us brought a salad. What a wonderful meal.

Full Church Today
The church was full today as with everyone returning to Paris after the Summer holidays. Weather here now is cool - highs in the lower 70’s. After church we toured the Pompidou area of Paris and ate lunch at the restaurant “Paris, Tx.” The fajitas were good but nothing like what we get in Texas.
Editor’s Notes
We went to a few restaurants like that with David and Georgia when we visited them in Paris. I got the feeling the “beef” was something like horse meat (probably not) or something else that I had not had before, but it was not cattle / cow beef like we have over in the U.S., at least not at that time.

Market Day
A great market day. I looked forward to it and even bought long stem beautiful, red gladiolus for 20F ($4 USD). David took the RER to Versailles in hopes of completing the last step toward out being legal here in Paris. He did not complete this task as government offices were under reconstruction, some were closed and others couldn’t communicate.
So back to the office and Louis submitted our request for a residence card thru this IBM contacts. Our boxes shipped from the U.S. on Tuesday, 9/3 will not arrive until next Thrusday (12th). We’re anxiously awaiting our American goodies.

A lot more people on the streets now as they have returned form vacation and the stores are beginning to re-open. In fact, there are lots of people on the streets.

We began framing the numerous posters/pictures purchased in Colorado (at a bargain price). The concrete walls are fun for hanging things.
Editor’s Note
Here are a few photos that Georgia took of the Living Room and the Dining Room. This is before they put the pictures/posters on the wall from Colorado.

Labor Day in the USA
(Labor Day in USA, but not here) - Jet lad had set in for me. I tried to go to sleep about 10pm last night but since I was still on Dallas time and wishing I was watching the Dallas Cowboys (3pm in Dallas), I was wide awake until 5am my time. (my payment for taking the Sunday afternoon nap.)
David took a 7:30am flight to Spain and I finally slept a few hours. He returned Monday evening from a good meeting and really tired and ready to stop flying for a while.
Editor’s Notes
When Deborah and I went over to visit them the first time in Paris Georgia forced Deborah to stay up all day by taking us to the Eiffel Tower and various other tourist attractions so we wouldn’t fall asleep. I think Deborah by dinner time was about ready to kill her because all she wanted to do was sleep.

Arriving at Charles De Gaulle Airport
We arrived Charles De Gaulle airport about 9AM local time. I was never even asked to open my carry-on of canned pickles, spaghetti sauce, mayonnaise, etc. The weather was rainy again and cool.
Upon arriving home very exhausted at 10AM Paris time (3AM Dallas time) we took a much needed nap (both of us knowing it to be the wrong thing to do). It’s unpacking time and David ventured to the office in preparation for his Monday AM trip to Spain.
Beautiful rain storms today.

Back From a 3-week Vacation in the U.S.
After a 3 week USA adventure of working and semi-vacation and becoming re-acquainted with our home in Southlake, a picnic with the family at our Cedar Creek lake property and an exceptional time visiting the beautiful mountains of Creede, Colorado, being with more family - we departed for Paris.
Editor’s Notes:
I know they had many more photos of their trip back home but I wasn’t able to locate any from the picnic. If I run across any I will post them to this entry.
