Drove back to Paris. Again, along back roads. We visited an old, old cathedral and abbey in the town of Verneuil Sur Aire, France, arriving home about 4PM. We attended the Living Word Church in Le Pecq that evening but decided it wasn’t the church for us.

David leaves the hotel for an early meeting at IBM and I enjoy a quick breakfast and proceed to catch the 8AM bus for the IBM facility to meet him. Only, it’s 7:50AM and the bus left at 7:45 AM. So, its taxi time and off I go with 3 other people from Israel who also intended to catch the 8AM bus.
During our 30 minute taxi ride, all three of them knew David, etc., etc. Small world. We drove back and arrived Paris about noon after yet another very enjoyable trip.

Attended the American Church in London carrying our luggage, golf clubs, computer, etc., as it was on the way to Gatwick Airport. Arrived at Victoria Station to catch the Gatwick Express to the airport and the platforms for our train were roped off with no entrance allowed due to a “suspicious” piece of luggage left unattended.
So we wait. We are leaving from a different platform and we’re off to the airport. We assume all turned out O.K. with the bag. Arrived Paris Sunday evening to very cool weather.

The church was full today as with everyone returning to Paris after the Summer holidays. Weather here now is cool - highs in the lower 70’s. After church we toured the Pompidou area of Paris and ate lunch at the restaurant “Paris, Tx.” The fajitas were good but nothing like what we get in Texas.
We went to a few restaurants like that with David and Georgia when we visited them in Paris. I got the feeling the “beef” was something like horse meat (probably not) or something else that I had not had before, but it was not cattle / cow beef like we have over in the U.S., at least not at that time.

A lot more people on the streets now as they have returned form vacation and the stores are beginning to re-open. In fact, there are lots of people on the streets.

We began framing the numerous posters/pictures purchased in Colorado (at a bargain price). The concrete walls are fun for hanging things.

Our first trip by car to church - downtown Paris. David even survived the circle around the Arch de Triomphe. We’ve been told if you succeed in this roundabout, you’re capable of driving anywhere in Paris. It has many roads joining from all sides and you yield to those entering. Back to our favorite store, IKEA, in the afternoon to pick up our back-ordered hassock stands.
Now we must rearrange the living room - a bright idea I thought of last night about midnight as we’re eating chocolate covered cookies and enjoying the company of our neighbors. It looks great - but now we need 1 small corner table and a coffee table. We hope that’s it.

Took the Metro to Paris to sign for our apartment. We can be ready to move in Wednesday, June 26.
With so many photos of their apartment I am going to continue to add some of these photos from now until they move in so as not to overload one page. This photo below is from their apartment, taken when they moved in, looking out the back of the apartment, into what was the apartment gardens.
