Lausanne Cathedral, Bern, and Swiss Alps

Tuesday, October 8, 1991

David departs for the show and I visited the Lausanne Cathedral (one of the oldest and largest cathedrals, built in the 12th century).

Thursday, October 10, 1991

I took the train North to the city of Bern. The scenery was beautiful but the city was full of Cultist groups.

Friday, October 11, 1991

I ventured on the train to the city of Bex. The train spiraled around Lake Geneva and then entered the beautiful Swiss Alps country. What a breathtaking sight. I loved this small resort town and fully enjoyed the spectacular beauty of its surroundings.

Retuning to Lausanne I stopped at Montreaux at the Chateau de Chillon - a castle built in the 13th. century on a rock on Lake Geneva.

No need walking the street. Most all shops are closed until September, as most of France is on Holiday (vacation) the month of August. So, it’s laundry, packing and diary writing.

Tuesday, August 6, 1991

Coffee social with the church group at an apartment overlooking downtown Paris. Very enjoyable day. Finally received our mail delivery from Dallas today (one day late).

Thursday, August 8, 1991

One day trip for David to London and I finish packing for the trip home.

Homeward Bound! And really looking forward to being with family, neighbors, and friends.

Editor’s Notes:

This is officially the end of Chapter 1 in Georgia’s journal. Chapter 2 starts August 31st after a 3 week stay over in the U.S., in which they went all over the place in a very short time. Georgia’s journal consisted of their life here in Paris (and Europe in total) so she did not write during these three weeks.

She did however take a lot of photos of the different places they went while they were in the U.S., and I am going to piece them together and post them here for the next few days, and then pick up on August 31st back in France.
